Winter Excursion 1, Day 95

Busy Day. It started at 0530, as we had to get Jacob to school at 0720. He did good on his weekly spelling test.
Cath and I did grocery shopping for the weekend and ran a few other errands. Picked Jacob up from school at 1500 and headed back to camp for an early dinner.
Then we headed to Karate Blue Belt orientation for the breaking board (a new skill Jacob has to learn). I had to break the board over a railing 50 times to loosen it up. Then Jacob got to see and try the new moves to break boards.

Back at camp we had an evening snack and sat by the campfire until 2200. Off to bed, fishing tomorrow.

Winter Excursion 1, Day 94

Day started out nice, weather was sunny and dry. Hopefully this will dry out the campsite.
Cath and I did laundry and a few other errands, then picked Jacob up from school.
We went to dinner at Chow Town to celebrate his Karate Promotion to Blue Belt Level I. It was a good Chinese Buffet. Jacob particularly liked the sweet & sour chicken, he ate at least three pounds!
After that we went to the big event.

Winter Excursion 1, Day 93

Woke to a foggy morning and after all the rain yesterday the campground is like a mud hole. Cleaned up from all the weather and got camp back in order.
The neighbor wanted to get some wood so we drove back to the wood place and loaded up. I think we have enough for the rest of the time here.
Went to lunch with the neighbors at a Greek place, The Gyros and conversation were great. Beth and Alex are full-timers and we learned a lot from them. Nice folks!
Picked up some fish at the store for dinner and then got Jacob from school. Back at camp he did his homework and then played with the campfire and rode his bike. Cecilia came over for dinner and Jacob ate like he's in a growing spurt. I think everyone at the table gave him food from their plate and he ate it all!
Cath and I sat by the fire and then we had brief thunder storm and of course more rain (got to keep that ground soggy..LOL).
A little TV and then off to bed. Tomorrow is supposed to be cool (around 50), but at least dry.

Winter Excursion 1, Day 92

RAIN. RAIN. RAIN!
It rained all day and most of the evening. Had a few thunder storms and lots of rain.
We hung in the camper all day, watched TV, and generally just chilled.
Crab cakes for dinner, a little more TV, then off to bed.
Jacob will be here after school tomorrow, so I'm sure the pace will pick up.

Winter Excursion 1, Day 91

Day started slow as we had watched the entire Super Bowl. Left camp around 1100 and hit camping world. Looked at a bunch of new campers, we still like the one we have.

Picked up Jacob at 1500 and headed back to camp. Gave him his new boots as he always seems to have wet feet!

Hamburgers, tater totes for dinner, YUM!
Early to bed, we will see Jacob again on Wednesday,

Winter Excursion 1, Day 90

Super Bowl Sunday and day 90 of our trip!

Had breakfast with Jacob and Cecilia, then they left at 0930. Did a few camp chores and Cath and I hit Walmart for some Super Bowl supplies.

While cooking the wings on the Egg, I watched a pair of cardinals. Actually, they have been around our campsite sine we got here.

 We had Nachos with the wings and after half time I made some Jiffy Pop!

 Cath had some popcorn. but preferred the candy bowl.

This Super Bowl was one of the most exciting I've ever watched and the half time show was great. I really liked the drones.
Off to bed around 2300. We are going to do a little exploring tomorrow.

Winter Excursion 1, Day 89

Up at 0730. Coffee, cereal for Jacob, and then off to Karate test. Jacob did well, we get the results on Monday.

After the big event we went back to the camper and had a quick lunch. Jacob showed up about 1400 after his haircut and we went fishing. Lake and the day was beautiful, but no fish, I think Jacob had a quick bite, but no joy.

 Here's a view of the lake. If the weather warms up I'll put the boat in next weekend.

Back at camp, a quick campfire and a nice dinner. Shis-ka-bobs and veggies for dinner off the grill. YUM...YUM!
A quick movie (Happy Feet II) and then off to bed.
