Winter Excursion 2, Day 20

So I was remiss in not posting yesterday, so this is the make-up.
We left camp at 0900 to go to Kennedy's first day of basketball. She had a great time with the practice session. Cath got to watch and I BSed Kaylee outside the gym.
While BSing I got this great pic of some jet trails over North Charleston.
We got Wesley's seat in the truck and this is the first time he got to use it.
Back at camp Mama showed up after her tennis match which she won!
We had a fun dinner of hamburgs and hot-dogs. Kiddos went to bed after the mandatory Smores. Cath, Nicole and I sat by the fire until Bri showed up. Nicole hit the rack and Bri, Cath & I sat by the fire until midnight.
The weather is great and it is so fun to spend the days with the Kids and Kiddos.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 19

Up early has we had some errand to run.
Had a nice surprise from our North Country Friends.....Some Maytag Blue Cheese from Iowa. Thanks so much, I guarantee every morsel will be enjoyed.
Here's a picture of "Grinnin' Cath" with the goods.
Bri and I did some early Xmas shopping for decorations at the Charleston Air Force Base PX. Left him back at work and headed to the Kiddos. We had a fun afternoon. Nicole made a super dinner for us (We love our DIL) and then we headed home.
We had a nice fire this evening at camp. Camp fire was super thanks to all the wood Bri has provided.
We will see them all tomorrow after basketball. Kids and Kiddos will be at camp tomorrow for an over night, should be a fun time! Can't wait!

Winter Excursion 2, Day 18

Got an early start and headed for the Kids & Kiddos. Picked up some ham biscuits from the Outpost on the way and had a nice breakfast with Nicole.
Spent the morning with Wes (he was acting nutty) while Nicole went to practice her golf game for the upcoming tournament at Yeamans Hall. I did some small projects for Bri and did some research at Lowe's for the camper fireplace install. I think I've got it figured out.
After lunch we went to Palmetto Islands County Park. It's not far from the Kid's house and we had a blast. Nice dog park (Kaylee was able to run her legs off). The park also has fishing piers, a great playground, and a splash park for the kids.
Here's the park office.
This is Wes on a fake rock in the playground.
Here's a little closer view.
Here's my wonderful DIL with my favorite Wild Viszla. We meet a lady from Hungary that had a Viszla also. She's only been in the USA for a few weeks and is very confused. Doesn't really know the area. Her husband works a a local University Hospital. We will see her again and walk the dogs together. Her Viszla is a Hungarian native!
We also did a turkey today on the grill for Kennedy's school class Turkey Feed. But we had to sample it for dinner, so we had a nice pre-T-Day Turkey Feed.
More adventures tomorrow, we are still loving this traveling/camping life!

Winter Excursion 2, Day 17

Lazy morning. Had a little breakfast and then headed to Nicole's. We had lunch at the local pizza joint on the way in.
We watched a cartoon movie with the Kiddos. Here's a selfie of Miss Kennedy and me.
Nicole and I ran to the grocery store and got a turkey that we'll cook tomorrow for Kennedy's school Thanksgiving Day feast this Friday. Cath and I will get to tour the school.
Nicole made a nice taco dinner for us and then headed off for a Mom's evening out. We went to the Kiddos Karate lesson at the neighbors. A few stories and a little playing then they were off to bed. Cath & I yakked with Bri for a little while then headed back to camp.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 16

Ham biscuits for breakfast from the Seewee Outpost. This place is famous for these breakfast biscuits, they probably sell over 200 per day.
Met some other campers this morning that also have a Rockwood UltraLite. Theirs is a little smaller than ours and they were impressed with the storage we have.
Did some errands and spent a few hours with Nicole and Wes.
Back at camp got ready for Bri and Wes for dinner. Had a great Sea Trout thanks to their neighbor Dave.
We had a wonderful sunset this evening. Here's a view from the campsite.
And here's a view with Bri in it.
Did a fire this evening after dinner. Off to bed as we have BSing duties tomorrow. We are still loving this camping life.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 15

Today is one of the days we have waited for. We get to see the Kids and Kiddos!
I got up at 0600 and started to pack up the outside stuff. Cath was up shortly after that and got the inside ready to go. We were on the road by 0745.
We did a few miles on the I-77 and then jumped off on the side roads. Traveling the back roads is the way to go, so much more to see.
Arrived at one of our favorite campgrounds (Buck Hall Recreation Area) just north of Mt. Pleasant, SC on RT-17 about 1345.
Got all set up and Nicole and the Kiddos arrived about 1545. Spent some great time with them and then headed to Seewee for a fried seafood dinner.
Here's a few pics of the campground.
All set up.
Another view.
The obligatory hammock. My DIW would not forgive me if it was not there.
And here's a shot of Wesley chillin' on the couch.
Bri and Wes will be here for dinner tomorrow. Cath and I have a few errands to run tomorrow.
All is well with the Boss Camper!

Winter Excursion 2, Day 14

The only thing we are thinking about today is seeing the Kiddos tomorrow. But we did take a walk late this morning.
Here is an old chimney along the trail to the Stone Mountain waterfall.
This is the top of the waterfall.
You can see were it "goes over the "edge".
And one more where it really goes downhill.
These stairs go down to the bottom of the waterfall, but were closed due to the recent storm damage. We were a little disappointed, but will see it next time we are here.
After the walk Kaylee was tuckered out.
Had a nice dinner and got the camper ready to travel tomorrow. Kiddos...here we come!
