We took the drive to David Crockett State Park today. It is a really nice park and we will stay there next year. The park is Davy Crockett's birth place.
The park is located on a beautiful river/stream. It looked really trouty to me. The ranger said there are trout, but bass and catfish are the mainstay.
This is upstream from the rapids in the last pic.
The campground is small, but really nice. These are full hookup sites, but the electric/water sites are nicer, as they are a little more dispersed.
Here's a replica cabin in the park.
There is more historical things to see in the park, but we will explore that next year.
Back at camp we got everything ready for a storm tonight. I'll report tomorrow how that went. We always look forward to rain on the roof at night, it makes for good sleeping.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 155
Rainy, rainy day.
We actually went nowhere today. It rained on and off all day. It did finally clear in the late afternoon.
We binged watched NCIS most of the afternoon and talked to Nicole and the Kiddos on and off as they are traveling to Florida.
The campground filled up a little, I'm sure it will be full for the weekend.,
If the weather cooperates tomorrow we are off to Davy Crockett State Park and Historic Birthplace.
Crab Cakes for dinner and some more TV this evening.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 154
Happy Easter! We woke up this morning and started searching for our Easter Baskets, but had no luck finding them.ðŸ˜
The campground cleared out by 0900. We are the only camper on our road. We got the camper re-leveled and Cath made a nice breakfast of Golden Rod Eggs.
After breakfast we went exploring the park. The weather is very nice and there were lots of families enjoying the park's day use areas.
Here's a pic of the picnic area that overlooks the lake.
This is the playground.
Here's one of the lake. The campground is behind those trees on the right.
Another of the lake. We thought the rocks were interesting.
The campground is up on that hill.
I found these "rounds" in the campground after everyone had left. I'll work on them the rest of the time we are here.
Lamb Chops for dinner, a show, then off to dreamland.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 153
We were up early and on the road by 1000. We only had 200 miles or so to the next campground. The drive today was really nice. We took SR 58 to US 11W. The roads were really nice with hardly any traffic. We saw some really nice country. We continue to be impressed by Tennessee, it is a beautiful state.
We took our time on the drive and arrived at Warrior's Path State Park near Kingsport, TN around 1500. The site we had reserved was listed as a 40 foot level site. It is anything but that. We were not sure if we would be able to get the camper into this site. It's hard to tell from the pics, but the site is almost on a cliff.
Here's a pic looking at our site from across the campground road.
Another view. Just behind the table and the camper it drops off into a valley. Probably a 75 foot drop.
Here's a view from the back.
We did manage to get the camper into the site and have just barely enough room to park the truck. Tomorrow we are going to have to re-level the camper, but the campground is full and we block the road when the truck is hooked to the camper. Most folks will be leaving tomorrow. We will be here until 12 Apr.
Cath made some yummy crab cakes for dinner and we watched a little TV. Tomorrow is Easter and after folks clear out of here we will explore the park.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 152
Today was laundry and get ready to move day. I also washed the truck and got the pit in the back (Kaylee's seat) cleaned up. Not sure how one dog can make such a mess.
After we got everything ready to go I walked over to the camp store and picked up my latest "geography shirt". They were on sale, 60% off, as they are last years shirts.
We went over to the Dockside Cafe in the park at the marina. They have an all you can eat catfish dinner on Fridays. It was served with all the trimmings and we enjoyed it.
This State Park has been nice and exploring the local area has been fun. I will say this is the most unlevel campground we have ever been to. All the other campers complain about it also. Some RVs cannot be leveled in this place. I'm pretty sure we will not be back here.
Moving day tomorrow, so off to bed early.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 151
Got up this morning and did some camp chores. Grabbed showers and headed out for a few errands. We were home by mid afternoon and hunkered down awaiting the rain and storms. The rain arrived just in time to keep us from grilling the steaks, so we Sous Vide them. They turned out really good as usual.
We caught a movie and then were off to bed. We decided to save laundry for tomorrow.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 150
For our last excursion from this campground we headed to Prentice Cooper State Forest just northwest of Chattanooga. Once we arrived it was dirt roads only and only one way in and out. This forest is mainly for hunting, hiking, and OHV riding.
We did find this along the way and found it interesting.
A closer view.
Back at camp we burned the rest of our firewood and did some "moon gazing" as Cath puts it.
Brats for dinner, more fire time, then off to bed. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, so we will make it laundry day.
