Winter Excursion 5, Day 49

We all had a nice breakfast and then watched a few shows with the Kiddos.
Later in the morning Brian and I took the Kiddos fishing. The only thing that was caught was a little tree frog. Wesley named him "Buddy"

The fishing was slow and the little gnats were plentiful and hungry. We ended up back at the camper.
Back at the Kid's house we had some crab cake appetizers and a nice dinner.
Cath and I headed back to the camper for a good night's sleep. It's been a fun weekend.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 48

Everyone had a great time at Brookgreen Gardens yesterday evening. Cath took a few pics.

Everyone said it was great and we will do it again next year.
Today is Happy Birthday to Brian! Cath and I got over to the house around 1200. Brian and the Kiddos bicycled around the neighborhood delivering Christmas Cards and then played a little tennis.
Brian made some awesome appetizers of shrimp and crab for a late afternoon snack. I spent the afternoon changing all the hinges on the cabinet doors to "slow close".
Cath made a nice dinner of salmon, we all enjoyed it. Nicole made a yummy Banana Cream Pie for desert.
After dinner everyone was trying to show me exercises to help my back. I think they made it worse..LOL!
We all wound down after a fun day. Cath and I stayed the night.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 47

We slept in for a little while, then had a lazy start to the morning. We left camp around 1000 to do some last minute Christmas shopping. We were totally surprised, but happy, that there was very little traffic. We got back to camp by 1200!
Cath made a nice lunch and we had a good walk. Kaylee was happy.
I decided to stay home this evening instead of going to Brookgreen Gardens for the Christmas light show. Cath, Mary, Brain, Nicole, and the Kiddos all went.
Kaylee and I did a little camp maintenance and caught up on our internet stuff.
The weather was nice today, although a little chilly. Low tonight will be around 30. Although the tides are good I didn't fish today, maybe I'll drop a line in tomorrow.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 46

Left Foster Creek this morning around 1030. Did the short drive to our favorite campground, Buck Hall. We arrived at 1130 and were enroute to the Kid's by 1300.
Did the last install of cabinet doors for the NCRP project. Hopefully everyone is happy. The Kiddos got home around 1430 and we spent some time with them, they are crazy! Kennedy was tired and Wesley was Wesley.
Mary (Nicole's Mom) arrives today and the Kiddos were excited.
Here's a pic of the new campground, same as the last time, site #12 is one of our favorites.
A quiet evening and then off to bed.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 45

The day started as usual, up early and then off to the Kid's
Cath finished off her next batch of cookies and she has one more batch to go. The paintable sugar cookies are the last batch. Kiddos need them next week...LOL
I worked on the NCRP. The pic below shows my "home away from home" for the past two weeks. We did 37 cabinet doors, stripping, sanding, and painting! Notice there are no doors on the left side (stripping/sanding booth) and four doors on the right side (paint booth) already painted. Tomorrow they get installed and with luck I will never see another cabinet door again, except to open it for snacks!
BTW: we met our goal to get this project completed before Mary (Nicole's Mom) arrived. She gets here tomorrow evening.
We left the Kid's around 1400 and did a few errands, got gas, stopped at the commissary and PX, then headed to the camper.
Tomorrow is moving day, back to Buck Hall our favorite campground.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 44

We left camp around 0800 and headed for the Kid's. Cath continued her Christmas cookie baking and I continued work on the NCRP. The project is almost done, one more painting iteration and a few installs and the project will be complete.
The Kiddos got home at 1430. Kennedy read me some of her new book, Jedi Academy. Wesley and I built a really nice jet plane from a Lego kit.
Brian got home around 1730 and we had dinner with him and the Kiddos.
We headed back to camp around 1930.
The weather has turned cool again, but that makes for good sleeping without the air conditioner noise.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 43

Brain arrived a camp just in time for lunch. The Kiddos made desert; cherry pie with the pie irons!
Kennedy was happy to see Reilly and Reilly was happy to be on the couch.
Here's Wesley with his camper he spent some time building. It just needs some wheels.
Here's Wesley on his hike on the trails out back. Guess what he's doing!
And here's Kennedy with Reilly.
A lot of football and frisbee got played before dinner and the Kiddos were tired once again. So were Cath & I.
I made some 3-2-1 Ribs for dinner and Cath made some really good Dirty Rice to go with them. All in all it's been another fun day with the Kiddos and we were happy to see Brian relax a little from work.
