Winter Excursion 6, Day 161 The Life of a Camp Host

It's our first day off of three.
I did a little maintenance on our co-host camper this morning. Replaced a kitchens faucet. All went well, they are happy.
We went into town and tried a new little restaurant that just opened. They specialize in fried seafood and wings and do a great take-out business. We had some fried shrimp (very good), fried whiting (OK), and French fries (very good). We will go there again, but for the shrimp and fries only.
After lunch we hit the local Wally World, got our groceries, and headed back to camp.
Relaxed this afternoon, did a little kite flying, and enjoyed the cool weather.

Two more days off, not sure what we are going to do. Time will tell!

Winter Excursion 6, Day 160 The Life of a Camp Host

It was a fairly easy day. We only had a few campers depart and just a couple came in. Spent part of the morning cleaning up debris from the storm. The bathhouse was not as bad as I thought it would be.
The weather today was perfect! The humidity is gone, it's sunny, and temps are in the high 60s.
The find of the day was this I-Phone charging cable.
Since it's I-Phone I threw it away!
I actually found two I-Phone charging cables and a pocket knife. The other cable and the pocket knife belonged to our Assistant Manager. She was happy to see them again. She lost them while notifying campers of the storm last night.

Winter Excursion 6, Day 159 The Life of a Camp Host

Back on duty and thank goodness we both feel a little better today. It must have been the rain knocked down some of the pollen.
With all the rain we've had got some good sized mushrooms growing by the tree stump in front of our camper.
The find of the day was this YETI magnet.
I know it's YETI, but I've no idea what it is used for. It now lives in my junk box.
It was just normal host duties until around 1800 when we got a tornado warning. We notified all the campers and everyone went to the bathhouse. There was around 35 folks at the bathhouse. I can't wait to clean it all up tomorrow. There was no damage in our area, but the light show was fantastic and we probably got almost 2 inches of rain in about 20 minutes.

Winter Excursion 6, Day 158 The Life of a Camp Host

We spent the day in the camper nursing our allergies and watching the thunder storms. Kaylee was not happy and spent most of the day in the shower or hiding by the bed.
We did manage to do our laundry today. When we did the jeans and pants one of us (probably me) left a few Kleenexes in the pockets. This is what came out of the washer.
What a fun mess to clean up.
Hopefully these rains will damp down some of this pollen. Time will tell.

Winter Excursion 6, Day 157 The Life of a Camp Host

The tree pollen around here is still kickin' our butts! We are sneezing, wheezing, and noses are running. We both hope we get over this soon. I've never had allergy problems before and would not wish this on anyone.
We drove to Ft Stewart via some backroads. On the way back we stopped in Claxton as the fruit cake situation was getting low.
Although we were off duty today there was still a find of the day. It was found at Ft Stewart.
There are two of them and I'm sure they will have a good home with me!

Winter Excursion 6, Day 156 The Life of a Camp Host

It was another very busy Sunday. We had 14 campers leave and the same arrive. I spent the entire morning cleaning sites. After the bathhouse cleaning we spent the afternoon outside again playing cribbage and talking with the campers.
The find of the day is this bracelet or maybe it's a ponytail holder.
Either way I hoping to sell it for big bucks as I'm sure it's a "one of a kind".
We are looking forward to the next few days as we are OFF!

Winter Excursion 6, Day 155 The Life of a Camp Host

It was busy today but not like yesterday. We still had quite a few leave and arrive which is a little unusual for a Saturday. Campground has been really quiet as there are very few kids around. We spent the late afternoon and evening outside by the fire as the weather has been perfect.
The find of the day was this diamond.
I'll have it appraised along with the diamond necklace I found a few weeks ago. Hopefully I'll get enough to pay for the new truck!
