Eel Weir State Park, Day 4

Jerry & Carolyn left this morning around 0730. They had some stuff to do back home. They left Logan with us, so Kaylee was happy to have a buddy all day.
We hung out a the camper all day and enjoyed a little cooler weather. The dogs and I watched this guy for a long time until he finally left.
Jerry and Carolyn got back around 1500. We had a few ABs, then got dinner ready at our place. We got it all done just in time as the skies opened up once again. The rain stopped after a few hours and by 2100 we were all in bed.
Cooler temps and more rain forecast for tomorrow.

Eel Weir State Park, Day 3

The weatherman was right. It got super hot and humid today. High was 90 deg, 77 is the norm for this time of year! It set a new record in Watertown!
We spent the day roasting at Jerry & Carolyn's site. Here's a pic.

Jerry and I went over to the Amish sawmill in the morning and filled my truck with wood. Price was $5.00! We have more then enough wood for the rest of the time we are here.
Carolyn made brats and potato salad for dinner. I cooked the onions and peppers on the Blackstone.
Here's a view of our site from Jerry & Carolyn's.
Right after dinner the storms started. We had a few lightning strikes within a few hundred feet of the camper. The storms lasted till almost midnight, but we were able to sneak back to our camper by dodging a few rain drops. We have more storms forecast for tomorrow, but the temps be a little nicer.

Eel Weir State Park, Day 2

Here's my view from the camper while having my morning coffee.
This site (right across from us) will be occupied by Jerry & Carolyn later to day.
The arrived around 1400. The dogs were happy to see each other.

We helped them get set up, had a few ABs, and then a nice spaghetti dinner at our site. We spent the evening at the campfire.
Weather was once again perfect, but is forecast to turn hot with thunderstorms.

Eel Weir State Park, Day 1

We arrived at Eel Weir State Park around 1330. Here's a pic of the site. No hookups here, but there is water not too far away. You can't tell by the pic, but that is our new awning. The old one finally gave up after five years of camping.
After we got set up we drove to the local Amish sawmill and picked up some slab wood. Their price is $5.00 for all you can fit in your truck! We only got enough for two nights. Jerry and I will get a truck load on Monday. He and Carolyn will arrive tomorrow.
Here's a good pic of Cath and Kaylee.
And this is our new acquisition for the camper. It's a Blackstone 17" griddle. It runs off the camper propane.  We will let everyone know how it works tomorrow for breakfast. All we did to it today was season the griddle. That took about two hours, but it's just like a cast iron skillet now.
The weather was perfect today, sunny with highs in the low 70s.

FROG Rally, Chenango Valley SP, NY Day 8

It rained fairly hard most of the night. Campground and our site was soaked in the morning. Around 0900 the rain let up a little. We did our final packing, teardown, and hookup, and headed to the dump station. The rain started again, I got soaked!
The rain finally let up after about an hour into our drive home. The rest of the trip was uneventful.
When we got home we unhooked the camper and headed to Jerry and Carolyn's to rescue Kaylee. She was glad to see us, but being at Jerry and Carolyn's is like being at a Doggie Spa, it's treat city!
It's been a fun week. We plan to attend the Rally next year. We made tons of new camping friends!

FROG Rally, Chenango Valley SP, NY Day 7

The last potluck breakfast started at 0830. Food was great as usual.
Everyone was saying their thanks and goodbyes, but there are a few of us staying one more day.
We spent the rest of the morning and afternoon in camp yakking with the other folks that are staying and watching the mass exodus.
In the evening we went to a local craft brewery call Beer Tree. The beer, atmosphere, and food was great.
Back at camp we got everything packed up for our departure tomorrow. Heavy rain is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Should be a fun trip home!

FROG Rally, Chenango Valley SP, NY Day 6

Potluck breakfast was at 0830 this morning. Cath's French toast casserole was a hit. These potlucks are great, but we are going to gain 5 pounds this weekend between all the food and ABs.
We hung around camp talking with all the FROG neighbors and swapping stories.
At 1600 in the afternoon the Rally had a "Camper Crawl". This means six of us got to show off our campers, explain any modifications we've made and let 75 folks walk through the camper. Cath and I got to show ours off!
Here's a pic of the neighbors being visited during the crawl.
After the crawl it was potluck dinner time again. Lots of great food and lots of stories.
We spent the rest of the evening and part of the night with our next door neighbors. We had a great time with the and look forward to seeing the again. Had a few night caps with them then off to bed.
On more potluck breakfast at 0830 tomorrow.
