Winter Excursion 7, Day 42

We left camp this morning after breakfast and headed to the Carolina Cider Joint south on Rt 17. We were a little disappointed as the prices have sky-rocketed! We use to pickup some grits, hush puppy mix, and a few nick-knacks, but not anymore. They wanted $16 for a coffee cup that we paid $4.95 three years ago! So we picked up nothing..LOL
Headed back to camp we stopped at a Church's Chicken joint, but the septic system was out so there was no hot food. We drove to Ravenel and had lunch at the Bojangles there.
On the way back to camp we stopped and got this pic.
We have been up and down this road for the last 7 years, but never noticed it!
We also stopped at the King's Farm Market, not far from Edisto. It is usually closed as we are here in January when they are closed. Saw this bench out front and had to google what Cheerwine is.
Cheerwine is a cherry-flavored soft drink by Carolina Beverage Corporation of Salisbury, North Carolina. It has been produced since 1917, claiming to be "the oldest continuing soft drink company still operated by the same family".
We got back to camp around 1400. Toy stopped by and asked if I wanted to do some fishing this afternoon. Dumb question...LOL! Fishing has been lousy this year, but I got this 15" monster. The other guys didn't even get any bites.
Back at camp it's fish for dinner!

Winter Excursion 7, Day 41

Morning came early for Nicole and I. Ringo finally decided to let us get a little sleep, but I have no idea what time that happened. Here' Wes and Ringo waking up!
The Kiddos started in right away wanting to ride the e-bike, but we held them off until after breakfast.
After pancakes and sausage on the flattop we all headed to the beach. The tide was super high. We did find a few shark teeth and Kennedy added to her shell collection.
Back at camp it was the e-bike time again.
After a lunch of nachos it was time for them to leave.
Cath and I did a little cleanup and then it was relax and some NFL football.
It was another fun day with the Kiddos.
We will sleep good tonight for sure.

Winter Excursion 7, Day 40

We did some grocery shopping this morning and got everything ready for Nicole and the Kiddos. They arrived around 1500. The Kiddos immediately discovered the e-bike.
They took turns riding until it was almost dark.
We did smash burgers on the flattop and the Kiddos discovered our aero-garden. They procced to eat a ton of the salad greens we've been growing.
They decided it should be called Craig & Cath's Salad Shop.
After dinner we got everyone ready for bed and a movie. We had hot chocolate and popcorn in bed! Ringo was worn out after all the days activity.

Mama fell asleep first.
Nicole and I were hoping that Ringo was worn out enough to sleep the night through. That was not to be the case. He started in around 2330. I took him out at midnight and again at 0100. Nicole was awake most of the night. I was awake on and  off. The Kiddos never heard a thing. At one point the dog was on Kennedy's head!
It was a crazy fun day!

Winter Excursion 7, Day 39

Well, as has been the case this whole time on the South Carolina coast the fishing was terrible! Toy and I got to the fishing hole at just the right time. There was 7 other fisherman there and no one (NO ONE!) caught anything. I think the fish have found a happier home!
We spent most of the day doing a little camp maintenance and cleaning out the sand. That's one of the problems with beach camping.
The weather turned a little cooler with fog and drizzle this morning and it was cloudy all day.
Kiddos will be here tomorrow...WhooHoo!

Winter Excursion 7, Day 38

Today did involve some fishing, but the fishing was horrible! No fish again. So tomorrow will involve some more fishing. I could buy some fish for less than this is costing, but it would not be as fun.
Sunset today was really nice.
The moon later was even better.
And in-between these two was dinner. Fried potatoes with peppers on the Flat Top and country ribs on the Egg!

Once again it's been a wonderful day. Hoping for some fish tomorrow which would make a really wonderful day.

Winter Excursion 7, Day 38

Here's a pic of Wesley and Ringo on the way to school after the Big Show last evening.
Hopefully he wakes up berfore the first bell!
Brian left for work, Nicole left for work, Cath and I were left with the "Biter", otherwise known as Ringo!
We got back to camp around 1200. Cath fell asleep outside in the sun after lunch with Kaylee. I did a few projects and road the e-bike up and down the beach.
Tomorrow may involve some fishing we will see.
All is good in the Boss Camp.

Winter Excursion 7, Day 37

We left camp around 1000 and drove to the Kid's house. Picked up some Subs for lunch on the way to feed Brian. He's doing OK with his injury, but could be better.
Met the Kiddos at the bus stop. Back at the house everyone is getting ready for the BIG Christmas Show at the Elementary School. Here's Kennedy.
And here's the two of them.
The show was packed and so was the parking lot. First up was Kennedy and her 4 & 5 grade chorus.
Kennedy has the antlers on....LOL
Next was the "Mini Monarchs". Although none of our Kiddos were not in this group, they were in the past. This group is 1st and 2nd graders. So Cute!
Last but not least was the 3rd grade tap club. Wes is third form the left.
Back at the house the Kiddos have school in the morning. The adults have work (not us), so we watched Maverick Top Gun. Cath and I had not seen it, it was FAB!
Off to bed, it's been a long, but fun day.
