Winter Excursion 3, Day 155

We dropped Kaylee off with Jerry and Carolyn at 0900. We headed to the US Space and Rocket Center and had our tickets by 1000. We took in two movies. The first in the planetarium was a history of Space exploration from the 1200s to the present. The other one was called Space Next. It was about the future of Space exploration. Both were excellent!
We toured the museum and grounds for the next 4 hours. Here's a few pics.
The International Space Station (ISS).

A replica Saturn 5 rocket. You can see this for miles around. It is huge!
An A-12, predecessor to the SR-71. Both were classified spy planes during the cold war.
Here's another view of the Saturn 5.
A mock up of Tranquility Base from the moon landings.
This is the oldest plane on display. We just thought it was interesting.
Here's the Apollo 16 Command Module.

One of the Space Shuttles. The Shuttle is large, but the rocket boosters are immense!
The Saturn 5 in the distance.
The US Space and Rocket Center is a must see if you are in this area. We found it really interesting. You could spend days here and still not see it all. The displays are excellent!
We are heading back tomorrow to do the bus tour.
We had dinner with Jerry and Carolyn and then headed home. It's been a good day.
