Winter Excursion 6, Day 3

Well the sogginess continued until just before noon.
Kaylee spent the morning in bed as usual with her nose sticking out just enough to get some fresh air and not suffocate!
When the rain finally stopped we took a walk around the campground.
Cath went into the country store they have and picked up a few Christmas decorations. Kaylee and I waited outside for a long time. Cath finally poked her nose out the door, but only wanted my wallet!
Mid afternoon we drove the 25 miles of backroads to get to Lenox, PA and Bingham's Family Restaurant. This place is famous in this area and has great food. When we arrived I was floored there were only a few cars in the parking lot, normally there is a line waiting to get in. Seems one of the employees came down with Covid yesterday and they are closed starting today. On the way back to the camper we picked up a Calzone for dinner. It was very good, but I'm still hankering for Bingham's Pastrami Sandwich.
Off to southern PA tomorrow, hopefully the weather will be a little better.

Winter Excursion 6, Day 2

Went to bed last night listening to rain drops on the roof. We both said how much we like it and then slept like babies. Woke up this morning to rain and it lasted until almost 1200.
We left camp and drove into Montrose, PA. It's a typical Upstate Pennsylvania old town. Lots of old buildings and a really old downtown that is somewhat in disrepair. We stopped at the local hardware store for some new sink strainers, ours were shot.
Afterward we headed to the nearest Target which was 30 miles away in Binghamton, NY. Seems Cath forgot her blow dryer and curling iron. I think she just wanted new ones!
On the way back to camp we got this pic of a Donut & Ammo Shop, only out in the country would you see that.
About 3 miles from the campground we got these pics of some Halloween decorations at a private house. Talk about going overboard!

We also stopped at Salt Springs State Park about 5 miles from camp. No camping, but it is a really nice park for day use. Here's a pic of the stream with a waterfall. After all the rain we've had it was roaring.

A few toddies, a nice dinner, a little TV, and then off to bed. It's been a soggy day...LOL!

Winter Excursion 6, Day 1

WOW! Our 6th Winter Excursion. We are looking forward to this one. It will be our longest, but with the least amount of miles as we will be in one spot for four months!
The drive today was nice. Backroads all the way to Binghamton, NY, a little Interstate (like 5 miles), then dirt roads to the campground.
Montrose, PA CG is a private CG and we usually don't stay at these, but it is really nice and the owners are super nice. Here's a pic or two of the site:

It's a "Seasonal Site", but the owner is not here so we get to use it. Full Hookups and a deck!
If the rain lets up we will do some exploring tomorrow. We leave here Monday morning and have another easy drive to southern PA.
Cath says it's good to be back in the "Tiny House" again. All is well at the Boss Camp!😀
