Winter Excursion 2, Day 31

Today was the warmest day of the trip so far. The temps got into the mid seventies. Woke up this morning to a flock of these birds in the campground, they were everywhere.
Drove over to Bri & Nicole's around noon. Did the preliminary work on the camper fireplace.
We picked Kennedy up from school and headed to the beach at Sullivan's Island.
The Kiddos in a tidal pool.
They both had a blast.
And of course Kaylee also had a good time off leash and in the surf.
A piece of driftwood on the beach. If you zoom in you can see the locals are decorating it for Christmas.
After the walk we hit a dog friendly joint for an early dinner.
We headed home around 1700 and hit major traffic on I-526. Took over an hour to get back to camp. I'll avoid the roads around here during the morning and evening commute times.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 30

Another good weather day. We went over to camping world to pick up a few things for the camper. We then drove over to Yeaman's to pick up Wesley. We had a great time with him at the campground. He had some lunch, hit the playground, watched a couple of shows, and he went to the PX with Granddad. Did we mention there were skittles and gummy bears involved with all of this?
Here's lunch, PB&J of course.
Here's a quick vid of the Hot Dog Dance he was watching on Disney.
Nicole came over and picked him up around 1400. Then they left to pick up Kennedy from school.
Cath and I had a nice late afternoon reading and relaxing.
Grilled chicken and baby squash for dinner, a movie, then off to bed.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 29

Up early and packed up, out of the campground by 1000. Drove to Nicole & Bri's. Cath scored a shower and I washed the camper. It came out nice as it had all the grime from the past four weeks.
Nicole had made some great muffins, I had a few (maybe four, maybe more๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜). They were great!
We made the short drive to our new campground at Foster Creek. It is actually at the Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek, SC.
Here's a view of our new site.
View looking out from the site.
And one more looking out. We have a large front yard. We are starting to figure out the sites we really like as we have been here before. Notice the Viszla to the left, she has been a really good dog so far this trip, but that may change as she is a Viszla.
Venison Piquant Stew for Two for dinner thanks to Jeff.
Will catch a shower tonight and all is well in the Boss camper. We miss the Kiddos, didn't get to see them today.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 28

Up this morning at 0700 as the Kiddos decided that was the time to start the day. Cath & I could have a used a few more hours, but Oh well!
Started the Kiddos out with hot chocolate and whipped cream, that was after I offered them Skittles at 0700.
We all sat down to a nice breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast.
This is the camper just up from us, all the kids wanted a pic with "Spidey". Notice they are from New York!
 Here's Kennedy painting rocks.
And last but not least Mama munching out.
Kids and Kiddos left around 1500. Cath and I chilled out and talked to our new neighbors until about 1800. Back in the camper scallops for dinner, then we are looking to a good nights sleep. We have to move to Foster Creek tomorrow.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 27

We started the day out with a little shopping to get ready for the weekend. The Kids and Kiddos were coming to camp and brought some friends with them. Nick and Katie and their family were fun to be with and we hope to see them again.
Nicole and the Kiddos arrived about 1030.
Here's a pic of Kennedy with her "campfire". Looks more like a bird nest to me.
Here's the whole gang around the campfire. Nick and family stayed in the tent. Bri and family stayed in the camper with us.
Here's Kennedy and her friend still playing with the "fake fire".
Here's the Kiddos in the camper sound asleep.
And here's one of Bri. Think he might have had a toddy or two?
It was a fun time and a late night, I think we turned in around midnight, but I'm not sure.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 26

Up early after a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and evening, Nicole made a nice breakfast and then Bri headed off to work. Cath finished up our laundry (thanks Nicole for the washer and dryer) and then we headed to camp, but not before Mr. Wesley had a brief time-out.
Here's Wes with his best sad face.
Back at camp we got a lot of camp clean-up and maintenance done. I drove back to Nicole and Bri's hoping for our new Boogey Lights to arrive. The lights did not arrive before I left, but I got to see the Kiddos again. They had been to Yeaman's Hall for a Kiddo fall festival.
Here's Kennedy with her Lady Bug and Rainbow face paint.
And not to be out-done here's Wes with his bat face paint. Notice the tongue...LOL!
Here's the Kiddos saying Bye-bye to Granddad, they like the new truck.
The new lights arrived just after I left, guess I'll have to install them tomorrow.
Should be a fun weekend as the Kids, Kiddos, and Friends are all coming to camp. We are prepared (maybe), plenty of campfire wood, snacks, and the weather will be perfect. Pics from the camp-out weekend to follow.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 25

Happy Thanksgiving! ๐Ÿฆƒ
We stayed the night after the Oyster Roast.
It was a rainy day. The Kiddos are all excited. Watched football all day and the girls got dinner together.
Here's the two star cooks.

Bri got home early and once the turkey came off the Weber, he carved it.
I think the wine was already flowing.
Kennedy set the table for the feast.
Wesley had his drum bone again!
And here's the family selfie before a great meal.
We did a movie after the Kiddos hit the rack. All in all a great day!

Winter Excursion 2, Day 24

Cath & I were up early, as she had an appointment in North Charleston. We then headed back to camp and packed a few things as we are staying at the kid's house for the next few days.
Bri asked me to build a new oyster shucking table for the neighborhood. The kiddos were there to help me out along with their neighbor Jeff.
Here's the finished product.
And here it is in use at the neighborhood oyster roast.
Here's the oyster cooker.
And the oysters!
Turned into a late night, but we had a great time.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 23

Today was moving day, but we are at the same campground. We moved from site #3 to Site #7.
Here's a few views of the new site.
Nicole got us our new stickers for the camper door last week, but we just got them on. We think they look good!
A closer look. Notice the fish in Kayle's mouth. LOL.
View from our new campsite. That is one of the retro campers.
Another view from the camp site.
And here's Cath looking a little too comfortable.
We went over to the Kids today to get a start on some of the goodies for the Neighborhood Oyster Roast and Thanksgiving dinner. We made the pie crusts and some peel-an-eat shrimp. Should be a fun next two days.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 22

Today was the world famous Thanksgiving Parade at Wesley's school. We had attended this parade last year with Kennedy.
The kids get to march around the school by classroom, and then get a Thanksgiving meal in the hallway. Lots of parents, grandparents, and friends in attendance.
Wes is the one in green.
He needs to pull up his headdress.
Here he is at the table getting ready to eat after a few songs the kids had learned.
Wes and some of his classmates.
Afterward Cath & Nicole went shopping for our turkey day. I watched Wes. We watched a few of his shows.
Kennedy arrived home from school around 1500 and the kiddos played outside with the neighbors.
Bri and Nicole went out to eat with friends and Cath & I watched the kiddos. They got home around 2130 and Cath & I headed for the camper. Tomorrow is moving day for us.

Winter Excursion 2, Day 21

Here's a pic of Bri and Wesley this morning by the Inland Waterway. It was great to have Bri here this morning, it's a nice break for him.
Here's the girls after breakfast.
The hammocks are a favorite with us all. Here's Bri and Nicole with both the kiddos.
We had a brunch of pancakes and sausage.
Yep, Cath and I enjoyed them too.
But of course Kennedy has to act like a nut, Here she is impersonating a Kahlua Pig...LOL
View this evening before dinner of the marsh across from the campground. The orange is the reeds.
Another view.
Kids and Kiddos left after dinner. The Kiddos have school tomorrow and Bri has to work. It's been a great weekend and we could not have asked for better weather.
