Winter Excursion 10, Day 219

We didn't leave Caledonia State Park until almost 1000. We made the short 200 mile drive to our new campground, Ives Run near Wellsboro, PA. This will be our last campground for this years trip. We will be here for 6 nights.
One of our camping friends, Bob & Marie, were already here. We did a quick setup and then spent the afternoon trading stories and lies.
Our other camping friends arrived around 1530. We helped them set up as they have a brand new camper and were having a few issues with the new leveling system.
We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening catching up with everyone's news.

Winter Excursion 10, Day 218

This morning I was sitting outside enjoying the weather and watching a neighbor two sites down pack up. After a while they got into the truck and started to leave. I heard a very loud noise (bang) and looked their way and saw the camper nose down and half out of the site. I walked over and saw that they had forgotten to put the large pin into the receiver to hold the hitch. When they started moving forward the hitch came out of the receiver, but the safety chains still held the camper to the truck! The jack head crashed into the tailgate and was destroyed. They were both very upset, wanted to cancel their plans for today, and call a mobile repairman. I told them that was not necessary and then helped them use the trailer jack manually (they didn’t know this was possible). In about 20 minutes I had them all hooked up again and they hit the road. They will need a new jack and will have to get the tailgate repaired or replaced.
The rest of the day was uneventful! We played some cards and packed up what little we had gotten out at this campground. We will be leaving here tomorrow for our last campground of this year’s trip and to meet some camping friends for a week.

Winter Excursion 10, Day 217

We slept in a little and then sat outside with the neighbors and yakked until almost 1300. Our neighbors are retired Air Force and we had a lot in common with them.
They have a Ford F250 very similar to our new one. He and I spent time going over some of the controls in the new Sync system. It made me anxious to get home to our new one.
We ran to the store in the afternoon for a few things and visited one of the local Country Stores.
Back at camp we played some cards, had a nice dinner, and hit the rack.

Winter Excursion 10, Day 216

We left camp around 0900 and drove the 300 miles to our new campground, Caledonia State Park, PA.
The drive was uneventful as usual. We stopped at a roadside rest for lunch and pulled into a parking spot next to another Brinkley. This was one of the big ones with 3 axels. We talked to him for a little while then went over to the picnic tables for lunch. While were eating another Brinkley pulled in. Of course, we all had to trade stories.
We arrived at our new campground around 1430 but had to wait until 1500 to get into our site. The checkout time here is 1500 and the current occupant took full advantage of that. While we waited the Campground Host came over and talked to us. He remembered us from when we were here in November on our way south.

Winter Excursion 10, Day 215

The campground is almost empty as everyone left yesterday. I guess they all had to work.
We spent the day in camp and slowly packed up as we are leaving here tomorrow. The weather continues to be perfect.
