Winter Excursion 9, Day 197

We've noticed a tree in this area we have not seen before.

It's called a Bigleaf Magnolia. It's a deciduous magnolia native to the southeastern United States and eastern Mexico. This species boasts the largest simple leaf and single flower of any native plant in North America.
Our camping friends, Ray & Melinda, arrived around 1000.
It was great to see them again. We were not able to see them while we were at Oak Mountain. They were in Florida with family. We caught up on news with them, had a good lunch, and played games most of the afternoon. We made Chicken Gyros for dinner. A good time was had by all.
