Winter Excursion 5, Day 37

No photos today...sorry!
We left camp at 0930 enroute to the Kid's house to work on the NCRP and Christmas Cookies. Both projects are going well and pics will be forthcoming.
Nicole made a yummy lunch of a smoked salmon and prosciutto ham salad. It was really good and I think Cath needs the recipe.
After installing the cabinet drawers that were ready for installation and getting the new doors ready for stripping, we headed back to camp as I have a few projects to complete there also.
After a lazy late afternoon and a few TV shows (Grit TV...LOL), we made some tacos for dinner. Sleep will come fast tonight, back to the NCRP tomorrow.
We missed the Kiddos today, but will wait till after school tomorrow before we leave.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 36

The day started out with the Kiddos not wanting to get up! I think they wore themselves out yesterday playing with the camping neighbor's Kiddos. Cath finally got Kennedy out of bed, but not before Cath had to get in the bed!
Wesley was a different story. We had to take his blankets, pillows, and his blanket one at a time, throw them in our bedroom and turn his bed back into the table before he could jump back it in to get him up! We finally succeeded.
Of course they both jumped right into Kennedy's bed and the wrestling match began. I think it was 0900 before we  finally had breakfast.
We got to the Kid's house around 1130. Brian and I got the Christmas lights up and running. Not quite as fancy as last year, but they still look good. I worked on NCRP in-between getting the lights and tree up.
We had a nice dinner of the Sea Trout we had gotten from our camping neighbor at Buck Hall. After dinner the Kiddos had some ice cream bars. Here's the end result with Wesley.

Later we headed back to camp for a good night's sleep. It was another long, fun day!

Winter Excursion 5, Day 35

We were at the Kid's by 0830. Nicole had basketball practice with Wesley at 0900 and I had basketball practice with Kennedy at 1000.

Back at the house we did some more work on the NCRP, it's starting to look good!
Took the Kiddos back to camp with us. They are spending the night. They met two other Kiddos about their same age and the four of them played all afternoon.
Brian & Nicole stopped at EVOs to pick up pizza for dinner and we all ate at the camper. After dinner Wesley entertained us all with a little dancing.
Brian & Nicole left and we all settled in to watch a Grinch movie. This included popcorn in
bed. Kaylee really enjoyed it!

Here's Wes with his batch.
We all enjoyed the movie and laughed ourselves silly.
Off to bed, it's been a long fun day.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 34

Left camp this morning at 0730. Arrived at the NCRP Site at 0815, traffic was heavy. Nicole and I had another cup of Java and then I got to work. Got a few doors/drawers installs finished, Painted a few more drawers and doors, and figured out the templates for all the handles. All in all it was a good morning and we got a lot done.
Nicole treated me to lunch with a sub from Publix, it was yummy!
Back at camp Cath needed to do some food/Christmas Cookie ingredient shopping so we headed to Lowes Grocery Store.
Back at camp again it was relax and a "couple of beers" afternoon.
All is well as usual in the Boss Camp.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 33

We left camp this morning around 0830. At the Kids Cath started on more Christmas cookies and I tackled the cabinet painting again. Cath's baking went well, the painting did not.
I started at the Sherman Williams paint store where I had bought the paint. They think it could have been the cold temps or maybe the cheap spray gun. They suggested a small roller with a 5 mil nap. Long story short, the roller theory did not work, neither did the temp theory. I procured a new spray gun and miracle upon miracle it worked great. The new finish is almost smooth as silk. Both Nicole and Brian were impressed (I think) with the finish. I told them if they didn't like it the next step was enamel paint and a damn brush! LOL.
Took the Kiddos to tennis, Nicole went out with some friends, Brian got home for dinner, and then Cath and I headed home.
Tomorrow is paint, paint, and paint day!

Winter Excursion 5, Day 32

Cath and I left camp early and drove to the kid's house.  The morning traffic in this area is amazing!
Cath started on our laundry and baking Christmas cookies. I continued with NCRP.
The stripping went well and the final sanding also went well. The painting is a different story. The spray gun or the paint causes an "orange peel" finish rather than a smooth glossy finish. It may be the cold weather, but tomorrow I will try a paint roller. Hopefully that will give us the finish we want.
Brian got home around 1600 and Nicole left to  play some tennis. We had a nice spaghetti dinner with Bri and the Kiddos and then Cath and I headed back to camp.
It's been a busy day and I hope the painting goes better tomorrow.

Winter Excursion 5, Day 31

Today was day one of the Nicole Cabinet Renovation Project, henceforth better know as NCRP. Left the camper at 0730 and headed to Nicole's. Yakked with Brian on the way as he was headed to work. Said Hi to Nicole and she left for school subbing.
Spent most of the morning at the paint store and Lowes getting the supplies required for NCRP. Back at the house got the workplace set up. Here's a pic:
Uninstalled the first group of cabinet doors, got them taped off (on the back side), and coated with gel stripper. I used the gel and so far no mess!
Here's the paint station that I'm hoping to use tomorrow. It all depends on how the old paint strips.
Headed back to the camper around 1330. Got a text from Nicole at 1400 that the stripper is working great. That was good news as the NCRP project will go faster!
Back at camp took Cath to the commissary for Christmas Cookie supplies.
Looking forward to a nice dinner, Cath says Schnitzel with dumplings...Yum Yum! A few ABs will be nice also. Life is good!
