Winter Excursion 2, Day 125

Packed up this morning in beautiful weather.
The first glitch was my hitch lock on the truck was frozen (corroded) and I could not budge it! I worked on it for an hour and finally just drilled out the tumbler in the lock and broke the thing off. I was glad I carry a spare.
The second glitch was Cath's. The dumpsters for the campground are about 1000 yds out the campground gate. So we stop at the dumpsters to get rid of the last of our trash and Cath says, "where is my phone"? As I have the camper hanging on the back of the truck it's a little hard to turn around on a campground road. Luckily a Park Ranger was coming by and I flagged him down. He took Cath back to our campsite to find her phone. About 10 minutes later I hear her phone ringing in the truck as her and the Ranger called the number to try to find it. She had put the phone down in the door on her side where we normally have the little bit of trash we generate in the truck. The Ranger made her walk back to the truck.😬
Here's our departing pic with Jacob. We will miss him!
Arrived at our new Campground (Honeycomb Campground southeast of Huntsville, AL) around 1430. We have a site right on the lake. I'll post pics tomorrow as we are meeting Ronnie & Carol for dinner at 1700. We got set up and headed out.
Dinner was at a restaurant in Huntsville. Food was great and the place was packed.
Here's a pic of dinner.
And here's a pic of our friends and some of the restaurant in the background.
The place is huge and was full with folks. There was a line at the door.
Headed back to camp and went to bed around nine. We will finish setting up tomorrow and will post some pics, This campground is really nice!
