Made our trip to Tractor Supply to get the new hitch stuff. They did not have what I wanted so we headed to Home Depot and Lowes. Lowes had what we needed and we headed to the damn dam.
Here's Cath and Kaylee at the damn dam. The damn dam is Guntersville Dam. This is the side with the lock for the barges.
You are looking at the lead barge. There are two in tandem behind that one and three side by side behind those two.
Here's a pic of the tug, which is really a pusher (it's the orange thing).
The lead barge.
The barge and tug leaving the lock.
A view of the flood gates.
A view of the lock entry.
Downstream about 1/4 mile there is a boat ramp. We saw this Gray Heron watching the fishermen. He would not move, this is his territory.
We drove around the lake created by the damn dam just to see the other side.
Another view of the lock and the spill ways.
To get to the damn dam on either side you have to drive the damn dam road which is along the damn dam power lines. OK I'm tongue tied. 😈
After the damn dam trip we headed to Grant, AL and Cathedral Caverns State Park. We will go back to this park as we can take a tour of the caverns.
In Grant, AL we passed this place......interesting.
A pic of the DAR school.
Another view of the DAR school.
Back at camp we just chilled out.
Sous Vide salmon for dinner, a movie, showers, and off to bed. It's been a fun day!
