Winter Excursion 5, Day 156

We did the 90 mile drive to Mammoth Cave National Park via the Cumberland Parkway which will be I-66 some day.
The park is nice, but was really crowded. The campground is on the old side. Many of the sites are small and would not be accessible for our camper. Most of the sites have power, but none have water.
We also went through Cave City, KY just outside the park. It is a huge tourist area and not really to our liking.
We took the backroads on the way back to camp and enjoyed seeing some of the Kentucky countryside.
We spent the afternoon playing cards and enjoying the 85 degree weather. We put all the chairs and outside stuff away as thunderstorms are forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
