After saying goodbye 100 times we finally left George L Smith State Park around 1100. We left just in the nick of time as we ran into a very rainy, windy, gusty, storm, just a few miles up the road. The rain finally stopped, but the gusty winds remained for our entire trip. It was really one of our worst travel days ever! Only good thing was we got a free truck and camper wash.
We finally arrived at Chewacla State Park near Auburn, AL.
The campground is almost empty, but the park was busy as it is Sunday afternoon. We got the camper all set up and then just relaxed. Today's drive wore me out. Here's a few pics of our wooded site.
The wind never really let up until early evening. Here's a pic of our neighbors camper. They are not home and I think they will be surprised when they arrive.
That awning is toast! The wind never really let up until early evening. Here's a pic of our neighbors camper. They are not home and I think they will be surprised when they arrive.
We have three nights here with no plans to do anything but relax.
