Winter Excursion 1, Day 5

Driving Day. We left Ft Story, VA en-route to Ft Fisher, NC at 0900.  It was a great drive, Rt 17 almost all the way.  Saw an interesting city on the drive, Cath said it is named after her sister, I said I doubt it or it would be called Lizzy City:

Arrived at Ft Fisher, NC around 1530.  The folks here are really great!  I had screwed up with the reservations (long story), but they were expecting us last Friday to stay until Sunday. We actually needed Saturday till Monday morning. Like I said the folks here are great, they had a space for us and didn't charge us for the screw-up.

We are looking forward to exploring tomorrow, we are on a sort of peninsula, Atlantic Ocean to the east and a river (bay) to the west.  From the ocean to the bay is maybe 1/10 mile.

Will post some pics after our wanderings tomorrow,  This is a really nice spot, but we are anxious to see the kiddos, Monday is only two days away.
