The day started out great! Got an early start and was first in line at the ferry. GPS picked up our route right away and we saved over 50 miles taking the ferry, not to mention the Wilmington traffic we avoided.
Here's few views from the ferry:
Waiting in line, nice truck....
Here comes the ferry.
The car next to us on the ferry. I guess this bird was hopping a ride too, but didn't have to pay the fare.
A neat shot of Gypsy (GPS), shows us in the middle of the water!
After the great ferry ride we drove down RT17 (our favorite) and arrived at the new campground.
The best was yet to come! Nicole showed up with the kiddos about an hour after we arrived at camp. They were almost as jazzed to see us as we were to see them.
Cute!
After a great afternoon we went to a local joint for fried seafood. Brian joined us after his meeting. Fried everything you can think of: clams, shrimp, scallops, tuna, and who knows what else. The joint is called SeeWee's near McClellanville, SC where hurricane Matthew's eye made landfall. We did see some damage, but not alot. They are still doing clean-up.
Here's Bri and the kiddos.
As today is Nov 14 2016 we have a Super Moon. Here's a pic from our campsite sitting at the campfire looking east toward the ocean.
Will continue this adventure tomorrow. Now it's bed time.
Love our first couple of days! Lots of great memories already!
