Winter Excursion 2, Day 8

We got an early start and beat the start of the rain by minutes. I was just finishing dumping when it started. Had rain on and off for some of the drive, but it cleared up by early afternoon. We rode RT-11 for part of the way, but I soon realized we were averaging 30 miles per hour and would not arrive at Claytor Lake State Park until sometime tonight. We jumped on I-81 and headed south at 70 mph.
We arrived at our campsite about 1430. This place is gorgeous! One of the nicest campgrounds we've been to. The facilities are really nice and so is the staff.
Here's the welcome sign at the office.
An original chimney.
A little history.
View of part of the lake from the office.
Our campsite. The campground has hardly any campers here, but the host said it will be crowded this weekend.
Nice level sites.
Off to do some exploring tomorrow.
