Winter Excursion 3, Day 104

We drove into Galveston today to do a little exploring. The weather is still cold (44 deg) and the wind is still kicking.
Here's a pic of the seawall in Galveston. Notice the little sign in the pic. They charge to park along the seawall.
This is part of a three block long cemetery in the older part of town.
This is the Texas Heroes Monument also in the older part of town.
Here's Galveston Island's Historic Pleasure Pier. It was built in the 1940s.
We thought this giant shrimp was interesting.
One of two fishing piers.
The surf was rough today.
Galveston is basically a tourist town. It reminds us of places like Myrtle beach or Ocean City. The old part of town is under some construction projects, so we didn't do any walking. We didn't take a pic, but two giant cruise ships were in port.
We had a nice Texas steak we picked up at a small local grocery for dinner. It was excellent. If all the beef in Texas is this good we will be on a red meat diet for the next few weeks.
