We decided to save Big Thicket National Preserve until after Corpus Christi as we will be closer at that campground.
We headed south today along the coast to Freeport, TX. This is another huge refinery area. We stopped at Tractor Supply and picked up Kaylee's food and bones. We also stopped at BUC-EE's a Texas gas station and convenience store. This is actually a small one, we've heard the larger ones are worth visiting.
Temps today never got out of the low 40s and the wind is still howling (30 mph). So no kayak fishing, but I did try some shore fishing with no luck. I could only take it for about an hour, wind chill was around 33 degrees.
Fired up the egg and had some nice lobster tails for dinner. They were really cheap and we will probably pick up a few more for a meal next week.
Watched a little TV and listened to the wind howl. It is forecast to die down tomorrow and temps will also be rising. Cath and I think we are getting southernized as the lower temps seem cold to us after three winters on the road with little to no snow or cold temps.
Looks like a nice camping spot on the water, did you eat the Flouder you cought?
