We left camp this morning and headed north to Cane River Creole National Historical Park, Rapids dr, Natchitoches, LA. On the way we went through Leesville, LA which is right by Ft Polk. The weather is warm (70s) and very humid. Lots of fog and everything is wet.
The Park was interesting and is the best preserved plantation still left. The family lived there until 1998. Here's a few pics.
This is the bottle garden. They used bottles for edging.
The live oaks were beautiful.
And yes we got another stamp in our passport. We were the only visitors there.
Back at camp we got everything ready to go for tomorrow. We are headed to Galveston Island State Park.
