Slept like a bear in hibernation last night. Did a little camp maintenance this morning and then we were off to see the sights in Greenville.
First stop was a tamale joint in town for an early lunch. It seems they call this area and south the "Tamale Trail" and all the towns boast that they have the best tamales.
In Greenville, MS it's call Hot Tamale Heaven.
Here's the menu.
And here's the joint and I say that lightly!
Sat outside as there is no indoor seating. Got to say they were the best tamales We've ever had. We will get a dozen to take with us before we leave.
Driving around town we saw this place..LOL
Here's the "Fish Market". It used to be an old gas station. They only had one type of fish. Catfish, but they had any size you wanted. Needless to say we are having catfish and hush puppies for dinner.
This is the Mississippi visitor center coming into Greenville. Upstairs is a small museum.
This is the largest vessel we've seen on the river. This guy is pushing 32 barges! They have them stacked 8 wide by 4 deep!
Another great sunset and as you can see by the flag it's windy.
Off to bed. It was a fun day.
Looks yummy and fun!
