Got up this morning and took Kaylee for a nice run at the campground as this place is almost empty. We did a little camp maintenance and cleaned-up from our lazy day yesterday.
Ran a few errands and came back to camp for a relaxing afternoon watching the barges go up and down the river.
Around 1700 we left for a restaurant in Greenville called Doe's Eat Place. (http://www.doeseatplace.com/). This joint has been here since 1941 and has been voted one of the 10 best steak places in the country. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the tables. This place is not fancy by any means, but the food was excellent! We had tamales with a bowl of chili for appetizers. Main course was salad with house dressing, 10 oz filet, and french fries. The steak was probably the best I've ever had. Here's a pic:
That is only half of my steak. I ate everything on my plate. If you are ever in this area you've got to eat here, although it is a little pricey.
Afterward we headed back to camp, watched a little TV, and moaned a lot because we were stuffed.
