Left camp around 0900 and headed to Lava Beds National Monument.
Here's a few pics of the vista coming into the park.
Here's a few pics of the lava beds. There is a "Cave Loop" you can drive and actually go into some of the lava caves. They even have flashlights and hardhats at the visitor center you can borrow to go into these caves. We could not go as the paths and caves are not dog friendly. We did manage to get a new passport stamp and of course a new geography shirt.
On the way home we stopped a the nearest grocery store for a few things. It is 25 miles from the campground! This area is really desolate and barren, except for the cattle and irrigated fields. Back at camp we were treated to a real "gully washer". Again, I thought we were in the desert. Here's the vid.
Lazy afternoon watching the storms. Kaylee hates the thunder.
Very cool! Where is day 46 and 47? Your fans are waiting!
